Raisecom Customized GPON ONT Awarded No.1 from China Mobile Procurement Bid
Raisecom customized GPON ONT for high efficient Wi-Fi coverage at home networking and awarded No.1 in the bid from China Mobile Terminal Company. The success of the 700,000 units ONT starts another deep cooperation with CMCC and presents strong power in home networking scenarios.
By November 2019, CMCC subscribers grown up to 946 million, including 753 million 4G mobile service subscribers and 187 million broadband service subscribers. China Mobile numbered 88 in the Top 500 World Brand list 2019.
Using CMTC’s traditional ONT Wi-Fi models, its subscribers often complained that Wi-Fi cannot cover far ends at home. The suboptimal Wi-Fi performance is due to the installation location of the ONT which favored for FTTH but not Wi-Fi signalling. Typically installed at the entrance of home and blocked by walls and metal electric casing, the radio signal has high attenuation and is difficult to completely reach all areas in the home. Meanwhile, the routers from third party is non-trivial to setup for better roaming with CMTC’s original ONT.
Raisecom customize ONT together with CMTC to solve this problem. Based on their original design, we removed the Wi-Fi, USB and even the voice function from the customized ONT. To accurately position it in the market, it is redesigned to connect to Raisecom G.hn router, so that formed a complete home Wi-Fi coverage scheme and completely solved the problem of Wi-Fi performance and coverage in simple steps.
Adopting global leading power line technology G.hn Turbo, Raisecom G.hn routers avoids the network cable by powerline infrastructure, just plug-in and enables the users to surf the Internet with outstanding experience. In addition, it can be placed anywhere in the home and according to the needs without wall penetration considerations. With Raisecom’s G.hn Mesh distributed networking technology, it is easy for users in different rooms to roam seamlessly for a better experience with Wi-Fi coverage.
